DURANT, Okla. – The John Massey School of Business at Southeastern Oklahoma State University has maintained its business accreditation by AACSB International — The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
Founded in 1916, AACSB International is the longest-serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees in business and accounting. AACSB Accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in business education, and has been earned by less than five percent of
the world’s business programs. Today, 716 business schools in 48 countries and territories maintain AACSB Accreditation.
The John Massey School of Business at Southeastern is the only AACSB- accredited business school in a public regional university in Oklahoma and one of only five institutions in the entire state to hold this distinction.
“The AACSB Accreditation is a symbol of quality and excellence,’’ said Southeastern president Sean Burrage. “Beyond that, it speaks to the commitment of our faculty and staff in providing students with the access and tools they need to be successful in their careers. We also appreciate the vision and continued support of (Regent) John Massey to help make all of this possible.’’
“It takes a great deal of commitment and determination to earn and maintain AACSB Accreditation,” said Robert D. Reid, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB International. “Business schools must not only meet specific standards of excellence, but their deans, faculty, and professional staff must make a commitment to ongoing continuous improvement to ensure that the institution will continue to deliver the highest quality of education to students.”
Executive Dean for Academic Affairs Lucretia C. Scoufos said maintaining the standards set forth by AACSB requires a team effort.
“In addition to the support of Regent Massey, we gratefully acknowledge the encouragement of President Burrage and Vice President (for Academic Affairs Doug) McMillan,’’ Scoufos said. “Most of all, we are proud of the faculty, staff and students of the John Massey School of Business, whose hard work and dedication to excellence are recognized in this achievement.”
